9 Noble Virtues tattoo ?
I am thinking about getting the 9 Noble Virtues of Asatru, written in Runes, tattooed on either my arm or chest. I do have several other tattoo's, so getting a tattoo is not an issue. I am looking ofr feedback on this idea. Thanks, Eric Wodenson |

An excellent idea. I am sure that by doing this your life will show the power of the nine noble virtues which I have also, recently, begun using n my meditations and devloping in my life. if you have done this, or will soon, i woud be most interested to hear your experiences. |

I was wondering if you all had any success at getting the bindrunes for the 9 noble virtues, I want to get them added to my tattoo as well but have had no luck. |

you can make a bindrune yourself. Courage - kenaz Truth - tiwaz Honour - hagalaz (the nordic hagall rune might serve you better than hagalaz from the elder fuþark) Fidelity - fehu Discipline - dagaz Hospitality - hagalaz again, in a bindrune, as in a sigil, it might do to show it only once. Self Reliance - sowilo Industriousness - isa (well, i'm not so sure whether this was really a virtue in þe olden days of our germanic forefathers, but as a bindrune would be aranged around a staff it would be there anyway.) Perseverance - perþro |

ah, i forgot one thing: you might also arrange all those runes around a common center in a star-like form. |

I really like the idea of this as a tattoo... I was thinking of doing something like this myself. However, I tried combining all eight of those runes into one bindrune and needless to say, the variations I have tried make it look...well, like a blob. Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to combine them to make them look more pleasing to the eye? I'm quite new to runes, particularly bindrunes, and any advice would be most welcome! |

I've been thinking along the same lines, but I dont want the 9 to look like a blob as in a bindrune, but i've chosen 3 of the 9 that's particularly meaningful to me - courage, truth and discipline. Anybody had the 9 in a pleasing form, or any idea on how to arrange the 3 above, particularly with the words with them as well....? |
