Game of the season??
Although it may not have been the best football we have played this year, this was a battle on a tough pitch, agianst a physical but good team, in tough conditions in hostile enviroment.Every1 played a part in an enjoyable game! lets show battle like this in the semi's! Heres the match report according to azad's website: Midweek matches have a different vibe, and this game was no exception. A good game of football was watched by West streets record attendance, you wouldnt of got a taxi for love nor money in Banbury last night, Azad Army was loud and proud, as was the performance of the team. After a nervy first 10 Azad pressed on, and Teddy fired wide from the only real clear opening for either team in a balanced first half. The second half was much the same, Gold are a team of battlers who just wouldnt buckle, and with their first attempt scored on the hour, we have to remain focussed and after the uproar of the first goal it was no real surprise if somewhat dissapointing that we conceded a minute later. The team refocussed and layed seige to the Golds back four and a quality finish from Leon brought us back into the game. Ben Davies brought out a fine save from Golds keeper, Craig Duckett hit a post, and a succession of corners had near misses, handballs, scrambled clearances, but it was not to be. Positives a plenty and a really enjoyable game between two sides who got on and played football in a fair but firm spirit, if onlys are if onlys, but theres always the next game. What did everyone else think?? Although they may have had the possesion lets not forget this is how we always seem to play we usually absorb the pressure and catch teams on the counter-attack or on set pieces.I think we fully deserved the win. |

What are Azad like we have got to play them in one of the cups soon (either john Wood or Norbar) |

I would say that they are very similar in style to Bretch Hill. That's the best way to sum them up. They battle hard and are physical but they can pass the ball too, and have some skillful players in there too. And yes to Harry Redknapp, that is how we play, and for an away team I think you could say we deserved the win. Let's not forget that although they had most of the chances, they stopped us from having ours by fouls. Woody was brought down twice by the last defender! |

similar to Bretch Hill? Really looking forward to that then. Do they have as many Asbo's between them? |
