Prostate Cancer Survivors

YANA - YOU ARE NOT ALONE NOW

PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

This forum is for the discussion of anything to do with Prostate Cancer.

There are only  two rules: no commercials (although it is quite OK to recommend treatment choices and medical people based on your personal research) or fundraisers and no flaming - be polite at all times.

Since we are aiming for it to be a true International Forum it would be good if you showed your country in your post.

Message:   My experience and understanding is that the continence should return nearly or completely problem free. In a few months. If you get a fine surgeon your chance of not getting a good urinary result is likely less than 10%. On regaining good erections there is a lot of variability depending on what the surgeon needs to do to give his best shot at removing all the cancer. Here you are in more of a 50-50 land, and a much longer time frame.

I feel I must editorialize on your overall stance, in order to be completely frank. I think you are off base if you feel you might be choosing to compromise well functioning systems. Just like the rest of us, your physical well being is under big duress now, though you didn't know that just a short while ago. Part of effectively digesting that change is to let go of patterns of thought that are fully based on the "old" you. (Sorry if this sounds harsh.)
