Prostate Cancer Survivors

YANA - YOU ARE NOT ALONE NOW

PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

This forum is for the discussion of anything to do with Prostate Cancer.

There are only  two rules: no commercials (although it is quite OK to recommend treatment choices and medical people based on your personal research) or fundraisers and no flaming - be polite at all times.

Since we are aiming for it to be a true International Forum it would be good if you showed your country in your post.

Message:   I agree with Patrick. Get a radiology and medical oncology consult.
If there was extrcapsular penetration (this means the cancer was outside the prostate) then there are still cancer cells there.
Not all "aggressive" cancers give off a lot of psa. My husband's psa was only 4.2. He had a gleason of 8 and a very "aggressice" cancer.
Had RP in April of 2004. Had radiation in January of 2005. PSA is still climbing. We have a medal oncology consult this Wednesday.
Every case is different That is for sure.
I am a nurse and I think this is one of the hardest cancers to treat.
One thing for sure YOU CAN'T LET IT GET YOU DOWN!!!!!
Believe it or not there are people worse off.
Get those consults and keep us up to date.
This is a good site.
Best of luck.
Roberta
