In a similar vein, travelling down the Stratford last year, we encountered several hire boats from the yard near Stratford which had moored on the lock moorings. By this I mean, they were moored, boat locked up and crew away at pub or wherever. We stopped at the yard for gas and pump-out and were told by the yard staff that the majority of the hirers were of Eastern European extraction and were told the rules but chose to ignore them. This is not a rant against hirers or east-Europeans but against inconsiderate boaters in general. |
