I am not very familiar with this motherboard and also I am not sure if I understand exactly what sort of difficulty you are having. The board has onboard sound - a Realtek chip. If this is not detected in Windows, then check if onboard sound has been enabled in the BIOS. Some people deactivate onboard BIOS because they have a PCI sound card, which they prefer to use instead of the integrated solution on the motherboard. If it is enabled in the BIOS and is still not detected in Windows, then ensure that you have installed the motherboard chipset drivers AND the Realtek sound drivers, both of which should be available on the driver CD that came with your motherboard. After installing the Realtek drivers, a new icon will be available in the system tray (notification area) of the taskbar for the Realtek sound. Double click that icon and configure it and the sound will then be available. Some trial and error will be necessary. Try plugging your speaker pins to each one of those sound sockets in the back of your PC. I will be updating the PC Hardware Explained this weekend. Check it out on Monday or whenever the update is ready for relevant pictures. If you need any more help, I will be glad to help but please provide me full details of your hardware, software, and the associated difficulty. |
