ATX cabinets

when choosing an ATX cabinet, how important is its net weight?

i've been looking for an i-box (model i-441) but haven't been able to find it. i compared this model with others and found it to be good. even my vendor suggests this model but considering the lack of supply at present, i am now looking for a good option, looks and performancewise. any suggestions?

Re: ATX cabinets

If you are buying for your home, then the weight of the cabinet is not very important.

Things to look for when buying a cabinet are

  1. An above-350-Watt power supply.
  2. spacious grill on the power supply directly above the CPU.
  3. Provision for fans in front and on the back of the fan.
  4. enough disk bays
  5. 24-pin power supply connector

If you are looking for supplying cabinets for offices (for big LANs), then net weight maybe a consideration. Otherwise, it is irrelevant.

VIP and Antec cabinets are rated above i-Box cabinets. Mercury/Kobian cabinets are also good.
