excel flagging

Reuben,
Don't know if this is the sort of technical support you can provide or not:
We log our lab results on an excel spread sheet that we have created. We have created a simple "if" formula that calculates loadings. Some of these are just a daily laoding, others look over weekly loadings and, of course, there is the monthly average loading found in the "average" at the bottom of the sheet.

Where we need help is in finding a way to flag the results if the average exceeds the limit. If we don't review the numbers (which are at the far end of our sprread sheet), we are not fully aware of either a potential or an actual violation. Is there some way to create a pop-up or put some notice on our screen when our comparison shows an exceedance of a limit?

One of our people has brought to my attention the conditional formatting capability of the program, so we can at least have a violation show up as in red, but that still requires a daily or weekly check of the data. We are looking for some way to make us sit up and take notice.

Thanks,
Gary Hydinger
