Just to complete this thread...It turned out that Bravenet, the host for the forum service had a server problem and lost the prior messages.  But they promise it won't happen again. Right.

Well, the original of this one showed up, but both of Myron's messages of 8/21/00, disappeared from the index! Not good.
First it says they're "not available", and then they get deleted with no such action on my (the webmaster) part! Not good.

I have posted a squawk to Bravenet to see what they might have to say about the problem. When, and if, they come up with a solution it will be posted here. In the meantime, I'll see if I can read this message after it gets posted.
